Easter is a delightful time to be in Europe. The weather is just starting to warm up, flowers are blooming in every conceivable direction and everyone really gets into the easter spirit.
A few years back, we were in Boston for easter and there was no sign of it anywhere- I couldn't even buy easter eggs at the corner store! While in Europe, I noticed that every single shop, cafe, bank, office, hair salon, travel agent, newsagent, bakery etcetc had an easter display in their window, and interior decorating stores had lots of easter props for sale (MUCH to my delight). Aside from the countless chocolate eggs I consumed, we also enjoyed a Catholic service on Good Friday in Cologne's Magnificent Cathedral- the Dom.
