The Blocks, Walsh Bay

March 16, 2012

We popped into Sydney's latest pop-up bar, The Blocks, after class today. The collaboration between Penfolds and London-based Studio Toogood has resulted in multi-sensory experience where wine is 'demystified' through sight, smell, touch and taste. Every detail has been meticulously designed- from the custom aluminium cast chairs to the sommelier's and waiter's uniforms.

Above/Right- In the center of the space, was a collection of wooden sculptures (called oaks), each with a unique shape and aroma to represent the five different wine brackets. Number three was my favourite.

Fellow Sydneysiders- it's here until the 5th of April, so be sure to check it out before it leaves!
